YFC Golf outing, Dinner and Auction

Posted on by Youth for Christ

Youth for Christ of Northern Indiana will host its Annual Golf Classic, Dinner and Auction in support of teenagers in our community.

The event will honor the law enforcement officers, public safety professionals, civic leaders, veterans, and volunteers who strengthen our community and keep us safe. Notre Dame football player Drue Tranquill will be among the featured guests, and retired Navy Admiral Bruce Clingan will deliver the keynote address. The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Mirro Center followed by an auction to raise money to impact our young people. Advance tickets are required and may be obtained by clicking HERE, or emailing bamico@yfcnin.org

The following day, Monday, September 12th, YFC will host its annual Allen County Golf Outing at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne. The morning flight will begin at 7:30 a.m., while the afternoon flight will begin at 1:15 p.m. The cost is $250 for an individual and $1,000 per team. Advance registration is required and can be done on our website.

Proceeds from both events will benefit YFC's youth-mentoring programs in Fort Wayne and surrounding communities, including Campus Life, City Life, and Juvenile Justice Ministry.

“Special events such as these enable us to continue our mission of serving more young people and sharing the life-giving message of Jesus Christ,” says Larry Lance, CEO of YFC of Northern Indiana.

An Indiana native, Admiral Bruce Clingan is the former commander of U.S. Naval Forces Europe–Africa and Allied Joint Force Command. He served the United States Central Command as deputy director of operations after the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Over the course of his highly decorated career, including service as deputy commander of the U.S. 6th Fleet, Clingan became a recognized leader in naval operations, planning, and strategy. In retirement, he now serves as senior advisor to Youth for Christ USA and leads YFC’s executive leader track.

Fort Wayne native, Drue Tranquill was an Associated Press all-state linebacker for Carroll High school. He joined the Notre Dame football program in 2014 and is now a junior playing safety. Tranquill will express thanks to the community leaders and volunteers who influenced his life, both on and off the gridiron.
