Answer to prayer

Posted on by Youth for Christ

Wednesday we asked prayer for a young lady on our spring break trip, and wanted to give you an update on that prayer request.

Wednesday's prayer request was:

"A student shared that this trip is the first time since July she hasn't woken up drunk, hungover or messed up from drugs or drinking the night before, to make her pain go away. She's terrified to go home to that again. Please start praying for a hedge of protection around her when she returns home, and for her heart to be held by Jesus in those pain-filled moments instead of by substances."

Here are a few updates that we received from our staff through out the week about this young lady:

  • Monday:  Tonight, my heart was broken on a walk when one of my girls shared that earlier this year she had a miscarriage nobody knew about. How does anyone deal with that alone, let alone as a teenager? I know God has big things planned for her this week and is speaking to her heart the words she needs to hear. Pray for her, and that she finds freedom from these secrets.

  • Thursday:  The young lady I've been talking to said that up until this week, her heart was completely shut out to God and faith, but with each club meeting it was slowly cracked open and then last night it was blown wide open and she accepted Jesus! Today we are going to write a letter to her baby (that she miscarried) and then my small group is going to go down to the ocean and let her let the letter go. She's having a hard time as she never took time to mourn the baby until this week. Praising God for the hope that He gives and meeting this young lady on this trip!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your prayers and helping to make a difference in this teenager's life! #givelifetoyourstory
